A lovely, entry level claret with the perfect balance of forward ripe fruit and rounded, structural tannins that lend elegance and finesse. Although Bordeaux was not without its challenges in 2019, it has produced some great wines. Frosts and hail in spring followed by one of the hottest summers on record for Bordeaux meant that properties had to be on full alert in the vineyard. Those that were vigilant did well and produced delicious, fruit-laden wines favouring elegance over power, with sophisticated silky tannins. You'll find that charm in this very appealing petit-château wine. Open an hour early and preferably decant. It'll make a very attractive partner to classic roasts, a herby aubergine and bean shepherd's pie or mature Cheddar.
