The Rothschild name is “synonymous with prestige, history, respect and remarkable wines” (Robert Parker). Three branches of the family have impressive portfolios of estates not only in France, but across the globe. Yet it was only in 2001 that they decided to craft a Champagne worthy of the family name. Using their extensive range of contacts, they were able to create this stunning complex rosé – 85% Chardonnay, primarily from Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs, and 15% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. Pinot is made into a delicate red wine and, like the Chardonnay, aged for three years before blending. After disgorgement it is cellared for another six months. A superb apéritif, this toasty, pretty, berry pink fizz is pure delight.
