Dom Pérignon has been Moët et Chandon’s most luxurious cuvée since its inaugural 1921 vintage and is frequently first choice of the rich and famous the world over. The remarkable 2008 vintage is stunning and already drinking well, but will develop considerably more over time. Released late 2018, after years on its lees, it marks the end of Richard Geoffroy as Chef de Caves. He retired in January 2019 after 28 years in charge. Wine Advocate proclaimed that "Geoffroy's tenure has transformed this cuvée." The near perfect 2008 is made from the very finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and only released after several years in the cellar. A wine of extraordinary complexity and finesse to serve just cellar cool, on its own or with hors d’oeuvres.
