Chapoutier is one of the most highly regarded names in the French wine world and certainly top in the Rhône valley. Since founding the business in 1808 the family have established vineyards throughout the Rhône Valley and, since Michel took charge in 1988, also in Provence, the Roussillon and South Australia too. Always where there is remarkable terroir to produce great wine. Michel Chapoutier has also introduced organic viticulture in the vineyards. Granilites is a very fine white Saint-Joseph, taking grapes from the high-altitude slopes of Charnas, Tournon and Mauves. The Mistral wind keeps fruit healthy and the vines cool, which accounts for the superb freshness in this rich, lees-aged white. Serve cool with fine white meat dishes.
