Are you a fan of fresh, fruity Chilean Chardonnay or do you prefer subtle, creamy French Chardonnay?
6x Casa Elena Chardonnay 2018, Central Valley
100% pure, unoaked Chilean Chardonnay
The Casa Elena wines are made by the Cremaschi Furlotti family in Chile’s Maule Valley and are longstanding Averys favourites owing to their excellent value and all-round appeal. Because this is unoaked, the vibrant, tropical fruit really sings from the glass making it hugely refreshing and ideal at this ‘in between’ time of year when you might still catch some late summer sun.
Expect tropical aromas of pineapple, mango and fresh lime with a zippy, citrussy finish. Just the thing with fish cakes or roast chicken.
6x Villa Blanche Chardonnay 2018, IGP Pays d’Oc
New vintage of much-loved French Chardonnay
Many of you will know that Villa Blanche is our top tip if you’re looking for a great value alternative to Burgundy. It’s made by Laurent Calmel and Jérôme Joseph in the Languedoc and over the last decade has won numerous awards, including a top spot in the ‘Chardonnay du Monde’ competition. Partially aged in oak barrels, it’s a touch richer and creamier in style than the Casa Elena balanced by beautiful fresh acidity.
Elegantly fragrant with aromas of peaches, nectarines, vanilla and almond. With a silky texture and a lingering, fresh finish, it’s perfect with creamy pasta or fish pie.
