Located on the left bank of the world-famous Gironde estuary, Chateau Peybourdieu lies in the heart of the Médoc appellation, home to many of the greatest and most renowned names of Bordeaux. The Médoc peninsula enjoys a wet and warm climate with generous amounts of sunshine and takes advantages of the winds coming from the Ocean and estuary, gently tempered by the pine forests. Made from a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, enjoying plenty of sunshine and cool breezes blown off the estuary, the 9 hectare of vineyard is lies on a bed of chalk and clay which get the best out of the 25 year old vines. Beautiful dense purple colour. The nose expresses notes of cedar, blackcurrant and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is generous with a pleasant tannic structure and good grip. The finish is long and lingering highlighting the harmony between ripe black fruits and herbaceous character.
