Château Tanaïs Olivier 2012

Haut-Medoc AOC

Château Olivier is one of the oldest estates in the Bordeaux region. Their sumptuously aged, mellow fruit Bordeaux was awarded an impressive 93 points by Wine Enthusiast. Now drinking perfectly, it's a gentle red with complex cedar and spice notes.

Château Tanaïs Olivier first started producing wines using the purest of Haut Médoc traditions in 1850. In 1923 it was taken on by the Baudinière family and has been run by the family ever since. The vineyard is located on the highest of the gravel hills in the Blanquefort district (the gateway of Bordeaux). Expertly crafted from a blend of half Merlot and half Cabernet Sauvignon, this red shows the best of Bordeaux’s most prestigious grapes. The bouquet reveals notes of cedarwood and ripe bramble fruit. While on the palate there's a beautiful balance between maturity and fresh fruit character that harmoniously marries with its rounded tannins and oak notes. Perfect drinking now it would pair wonderfully with game or roasted mushrooms.
