Vintage ports often take 20 years of cellaring to reach their peak, but luckily there’s a smart alternative. Late Bottled Vintage ports are similar in style, but are matured in cask for longer, so their rich, warming, dark chocolate and plum flavours can be enjoyed right away. This delectable LBV has been specially selected for Averys by one of the top names in the Douro. David Guimaraens is the sixth generation of his family in the port business. He's had considerable international experience – in Australia and the States, before returning to the Douro, eventually to become head of winemaking at Taylor's. This LBV has many layers of rich flavour. Savour slowly on its own or with Stilton or, the Portuguese way, with rich chocolate torte.
