Founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin has been a byword for top quality Burgundy for over a century. Neal Martin at Wine Advocate wrote “Drouhin continues to demonstrate what a class act they have become.” Run today by the founder’s four great grandchildren, they have a magnificent portfolio of vineyards that extend from Chablis in the north to the Mâconnais. They are firm believers in organic and biodynamic viticulture, part of a philosophy of meticulous attention to detail throughout their range. Their cellars lie in the former, ornate Parliament buildings in Beaune. This wine may say a simple village wine on the label, but tastes way finer than that. It is already drinking well, with chicken, duck or mushroom ragoût. Open early or cellar.

"Pretty red fruits, floral hints, freshness – such elegance, the wine dances on the palate" Jehan Sacaze
