Established in the 1800s, this top Barsac estate has been in the Dubourdieu family since 1924. It only had 4 hectares of vines, but gradually, over the years, the family has bought more top sites. Denis Dubourdieu took over in 2000, the third generation of his family. Until he died in 2016, he was regarded as one of Bordeaux's finest, most innovative winemakers. He was consultant for many top properties – 85 of them at one point, including Châteaux d'Yquem and Margaux. White wines were his greatest passion – both dry and sweet. His two sons now continue his fine work. This gorgeous sweet wine is Sémillon focused, the tiny noble-rot grapes picked individually. Matured in 65% new oak for 10 months, the wine is hugely complex and layered.
