Château La Cabanne is a member of the Union of Grands Crus of Bordeaux, a group of 131 top châteaux based in the finest appellations in Gironde. Owned by the Estager family since 1952, Château La Cabanne is in the heart of Pomerol. Their 10-hectare vineyard is on the western slope of the Plateau de Pomerol, close to the prestigious Château Clinet estate. This rich, complex claret is dominated by supple Merlot – the key grape of Pomerol - with a dash of Cabernet Franc. It shows ripe strawberry and raspberry aromas with liquorice and dried fruits notes. 18 months of maturation in French oak barrels, 65% of which are new, adds layers of cedar spice and smoke. Decant and savour on its own, or pair with a cheeseboard for extra pleasure.
