The critics are full of praise for Bordeaux 2018 - it "will be remembered as an exceptional year, with no shortage of outstanding wines from this extraordinary vintage." It was marked by humidity in spring, so vigilance in the vineyard was paramount, then glorious fine, hot weather from June onwards. The result across the board is lovely ripeness, relatively high alcohol, good extract and wines with fabulous depth. That's especially true in the fine Château La Rose Gadis, run today by Bernard Lasnier. He took over from his father, built new cellars and likes to make a fruit forward style of wine. It makes a fine addition to any dinner table with classic roast meats or a meat or veggie casserole. Open early and decant for best results.
