Château Les Tresquots lies in Bégadan in the northern part of the Médoc, indeed, just on the edge of the Haut Médoc. Its neighbours include Châteaux La Tour de By and Pâtache d'Aux, so we know the territory is very good. The fourth generation Reich family are in charge of the property and make a rich, fruit forward style of wine, velvety in texture, yet with the potential for ageing. The 2015 vintage release won a Gold at the Concours de Bordeaux;the superb 2016 is a little more classic in style thanks to the vintage. Merlot supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and with gentle oak, this is a generous style, ready to drink, but worth decanting 30-60 minutes beforehand. Ideal with rack of lamb or steak, roast chicken or with a rich moussaka.
