Petit château Bordeaux (ie not from the expensive Cru Classé properties) offers a wealth of luscious ripe fruit, coupled with elegance. They make a perfect partnership with food and some, like this, are also silky enough to enjoy solo. The wine is from a small property owned by second-generation Laurent Chenard. His parents grew cereal crops with a few vines, but when he took over in 1999, he transformed it into a wine estate, with 7 hectares of vineyard. He is situated in the Entre-Deux-Mers, where Merlot is the king of grapes. In 2019, it ripened to perfection, so that the wine offers generous velvety plum and damson fruit, with rounded tannins and freshness. A charming wine to serve with grilled meats or veggie stew with dumplings!
