Bordeaux’s white wines have long lived in the shadow of the region’s world famous reds and remain vastly undervalued. For proof of this, look no further than the latest vintage of this classic Sauvignon Sémillon blend from a small estate near Castillon la Bataille. It's been owned and run by Patrick Hospital since 1983. The wine has a fine pedigree, with previous vintages winning awards galore (including Gold medals and a 90-point Decanter recommendation). Made from the fruit of vines over 20 years old, this is a crisp, clean, unoaked white, with grapefruit freshness and floral elegance and a long, refreshing finish. Served chilled, this is an ideal choice to sip solo on a sunny summer’s afternoon or to serve with seafood or salads.
