Every year, top Minervois winemaker Jérôme Portal wins Golds for this fabulous Minervois. In fact his Château de Beaufort has scooped 14 Golds in the last five vintages! You may remember he achieved the same with the luscious Château de Portal Minervois as well. Jérôme is a Syrah fanatic, hence it makes up 40% of the wine, lending it herbal-scented, blackberry fruit with deep colour and velvety tannins. Its bed fellows are raspberry-rich Grenache and the dark spice of Carignan. Part whole bunch fermentation brings out both the fruit and the wine's voluptuous texture. Not only a great wine, Château de Beaufort is an historic property, dating back to the 1135 and gives its name to a tiny village there. An authentic taste of southern France.
