Books at the Donnhoff estate can tell you about the harvest in 1784 (apparently a bumper crop!) To this day they’re one of the first names in German wine, and this Riesling shows off their prowess deliciously.Kabinett is the freshest, lightest style of Prädikat Riesling, beloved for its crisp fruit and delicately floral aromas. The steeply sloped, slate-on-clay vineyard of Leistenberg is ideal for ensuring the grapes can fully ripen without losing any of Riesling’s classic acidity.As a “Grosse Lage” it ranks in the very top tier of Germany’s most treasured vineyards – this is one for the most obsessive Riesling lover’s cellar. Crunchy green pears, slatey minerality and white flowers bloom from the glass, with nuances of lime adding definition. Beautifully balanced on the palate – citrusy acidity marrying perfectly with a delicate seam of sweetness. Delicious.
