Wine Advocate describes the wines from this outstanding domaine as “demonstrative, pleasure-bent reds". The grapes for this appealing Burgundy come from smart addresses, way finer than its village appellation. Pretty, floral with crunchy red fruits.
Bachelet brothers Marc and Alexandre set up a 10-hectare organic estate in Burgundy in 2005 and from their first vintage, they've attracted enormous praise. Critic Neal Martin says: “If you have not discovered the Bachelet brothers yet, it’s time to do so.” Their estate includes superb vineyards in Maranges, Santenay and Puligny, plus a handful they have enfermage (under their management), all worked organically. For this charming village Burgundy, the brothers take three parcels of Pinot Noir – from Puligny, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and Maranges – and carefully blend them to get a beautifully balanced, perfumed red. From a superb, classic vintage, this is a delightful wine to serve with white meats and mushroom dishes. Open early and decant.
"Prodigious concentration and vibrant flavors, the best 2020 reds are striking wines, built for ages"
