Having travelled the world making wine, Bachelet brothers Marc and Alexandre set up a 10-hectare estate in Burgundy in 2005. From their first vintage, they've attracted enormous praise from critics. Wine Advocate wrote in 2021, "brothers Mark and Alexandre preside over a superb portfolio of serious, structured whites and demonstrative, pleasure-bent reds." Vinous described them as "on fire." Their estate includes superb vineyards in Maranges, Santenay and Puligny, plus a handful more 'enfermage' (under their management), all worked organically. The Chassagne is from five plots on their grandfather's original estate. With a touch of oak, this is a textured, creamy white, promising more once the taut minerality softens. Open early or cellar.
