With heady rose petal and lychee scents leaping from the glass, this fine estate Alsace Gewürztraminer leaves a lasting impression. Les Eléments comes from a lieu-dit (a specific vineyard) of the same name, which has proven to be ideal for fine, minerally Gewürztraminer. It’s part of the well respected Bott-Geyl estate whose boss, Jean Christophe Bott, is a direct descendant of the 18th century founder, Jean Martin Geyl. The domaine was certified organic in 2000 and biodynamic two years later so now the vineyards are treated as one living organism, the health of which determines the health of the grapes and the consequent purity of flavour in the wine. This white is a fine accompaniment to the rich cuisine of Alsace and spicy fusion dishes.
