Robert Parker sums it up: “Courbis is a name to watch in the Northern Rhone", "an immaculate estate". The domaine dates back to the 16th century and is run today by the brothers Dominique and Laurent Courbis. They combine longheld family tradition with a youthful energy and modern style. The result has been international recognition and some truly outstanding wines. Indeed, their wines are considered some of the most compelling examples of Saint-Joseph and Cornas today. They also source grapes from the rugged Ardèche close by, not only Syrah, but also pure Viognier, like the great wines of Condrieu. With luscious floral and spice notes and hints of white peach, with a core of freshness, this white is delicious solo or with creamy chicken.
