In 1825 cobbler Pierre Faiveley started a wine merchant business in Nuits Saint Georges. So began one of the most famous houses in Burgundy. Through seven generations vineyards have been acquired, and just in 2013 they were delighted to gain 20 more hectares in this hallowed appellation. A most rare opportunity. Erwan Faiveley took over from his father in 2005 and has been assisted by sister Eve since 2014 (she’s the first daughter for seven generations!) Erwan set about fine tuning the style, to make the wines more elegant and defined, while still retaining their cellaring potential. Using hand picked Pinot Noir, this is a seductive Chambolle, aged for a year in French oak. Decant early or cellar. Ideal with wild mushroom dishes or duck.
