Jean Monnier is a seventh generation domaine, whose wine quality is outstanding. Parker described them as "an estate whose wines I recommend with much enthusiasm", yet amazingly the prices remain very reasonable. Founded in 1720, the estate is run today by Jean-Claude and Nicolas Monnier. The limestone soils and old vines of the property yield a definitive style of Meursault – rich, generous and ripe with a lean, mineral streak of acidity. A classic structure, with hidden depths. Using all hand harvested grapes from this fine vintage, the 2019 was first fermented, then aged 15 months in barrel to produce a wine of great complexity and finesse. No rush with this wine. Serve in large bowled glasses, with fine white meat or fish dishes.

"Straddles the boundary between the lean precise style of Meursault and the richer, broader one" Stewart Pryce
