Great Sancerre is about more than just crisp Sauvignon or pretty Pinot Noir. It’s about ‘place’ – and that’s exactly what critics have loved about this fine wines from Joël and Sylvie Cirotte's small family domaine. Dating back to the early 19th century, Domaine La Croix Saint Laurent lies in the village of Bué. Here you’ll find some of Sancerre’s best vineyards, including their pride and joy for Sauvignon, Le Chêne Marchand. They also grow Pinot Noir, both for their silky perfumed red and this pretty, citrusy fresh rosé. It makes a very smart apéritif, a classic match for prawns or simple panfried fish, or creamy chicken or seafood pancakes. It beautifully captures the pure fruit of Pinot Noir and the volcanic soils on which it's grown.
