This exciting family domaine – wine growers since 1635 – is today in the hands of the 13th generation, Katia Mauroy. As soon as Katia was handed the reins in the 1990s, she modernised the cellar and took back the winemaking (previously grapes had been sold off). Their 15 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc are planted on the high slopes surrounding Saint Andelain, facing south and southeast, with optimum exposure to sun. Grapes are grown on three soils – Kimmeridgian marl for minerality, clay limestone for fruit, and sandy limestone for aroma, fruit again and freshness. This gives Katia a wide palette of flavours from which to blend. Her wines are highly recommended by Decanter, Guide Hachette and jancisrobinson.com. A true classic with seafood.
