Southern France's Pays d’Oc is a “treasure-trove for fascinating wines and dynamic producers” says Decanter. And with fewer rules, it's an exciting playground for winemakers. They tend to have a can-do attitude to produce delicious, modern wines at an affordable price. Take this Viognier from Domaine de Longuet. It’s crafted by our good friend Vincent Gourdon, who has made some of our bestsellers like Le XV. The grapes all come from 18th-century Domaine de Longuet, with vineyards along the banks of the Canal du Midi. Here the grapes ripen to perfection with warm sun and cooling coastal breezes. The result is a wine with an exuberant personality and rich aromas – ideal with a Mediterranean-inspired dish like chicken tagine or bouillabaisse.
