It's rare to find a nine year old Languedoc red that makes such seductive drinking. But then this fine wine comes from the 'cru' soils around Pézenas, with its ideal Mediterranean influenced climate. It was this exciting potential that attracted the owner of world famous Clos du Val, John Goelet, in 1998. He purchased it and started making wines that could stand up to the best in the world. Such has been the quality there that in 2018 Bordeaux's renowned Lurton family took control. This is a luscious, mature blend of local varieties Grenache, peppery Mourvèdre and spicy Carignan. Part fermented and aged in barrel, it's a complex wine. Mature now with a lovely balance of fruit liqueur, black olive and spice. A fine partner to grilled meats.

"Rare opportunity to enjoy a premium Languedoc red of such maturity. Full, rich and mellow" Mark Hoddy
