We’ve worked with Jérémie Huchet and his father Yves at Domaine de la Chauvinière for many years. Each year, we taste Muscadets from lots of other producers but this one always comes out top. Domaine de la Chauviniere is located in the premium Sevre-et-Maine region with the vineyards located on granite soils known as ‘granit de Château-Thébaud’. These give the wine its elegant mineral and complex structure. Like the best Muscadets, it’s aged on its lees over winter to add a delicious aromatic intensity and richness of flavour. On the nose, bright citrus and crunchy green apple fruit are accompanied by hints of saline minerality. Very pure and precise with a crisp, dry finish, it’s the perfect match for shellfish.
