Domaine du Camp Revès Blanc 2018

Côtes du Rhône-Villages AOP

Lovely, rounded, creamy, ripe peach fruit cut through by stony mineral freshness – a top class Rhône white. The estate lies close to Châteauneuf du Pape, so it’s no wonder it enjoys the same prized soil. A most rewarding white and from a top vintage.

Domaine du Camp Revès lies on the edge furthest from the village (its name means ‘field on the other side’) and closest to the vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape. So here you have a wine with a richness and weight very similar to that of Châteauneuf, but without the high price tag. This is a small family property that only started making its own wines 20 years ago (before that, their grapes were in high demand). They boast vineyards, both red and white grapes, with stones a metre deep that lend a nervy, brisk, mineral edge to the wine’s voluptuous, ripe style. Cool fermentation, with just a third aged in barrel for six months, ensures a bright fruity white with a long spicy underlay. A sumptuous treat with creamy sauced white meats or fish.
