Forgotten by wine lovers for a decade or more, Beaujolais today is one of France's trendiest regions. Its wines are delicious, charming and exciting. This is a fabulous 2018 from Dominique Piron, whose estate was founded in the 17th century. Today it has 95 hectares of vines throughout Beaujolais’ finest villages, a third of them in Morgon. Dominique is the 14th generation, and, with no family of his own, he has joined up with a long standing friend, Julien Revillon. Together they have a vision to produce Beaujolais as fine as any Grand Cru Burgundy. They go to great lengths to achieve that, in the vineyard and in the cellar. Grown on the granite soils of Morgon, this red is silky and lush. Superb with duck or butternut squash risotto.
