Cabernet Sauvignon is the most planted grape variety in the world and excels in the beautiful vineyards of California. But you don’t need to pay the premium prices of Napa Valley to be able to enjoy its juicy, cassis-rich flavours. Drawbridge is a great example of this variety, named after the bridges that span the rivers within the California Delta. It’s from the outstanding 2021 vintage – heralded by California’s Wine Institute as "one of the best in recent memory", enjoying good conditions during the growing season and harvest. Boasting wonderful richness, the wine is densely flavoured, but immediately accessible with soft, juicy berry flavour and gentle oaky spice. It’s right at home with grilled steak, rich pasta dishes or burgers.
