The eponymous Thomas Hardy left Devon and came to Australia in 1850 and by 1853 had founded the winery. From that time onwards, the family has built on opportunities and expanded both in size and reputation. Eileen Hardy is their flagship Chardonnay. It uses premium grapes from three of the finest cool climate regions – Tasmania, Victoria's Yarra Valley and Tumbarumba in the western foothills of the Snowy Mountains, NSW. This glorious Chardonnay has won many awards, including 98 Points from James Halliday, just last vintage. Handpicked grapes oak fermented in cask with wild yeasts, and aged in barrel (half new), it's a lavish white, while malolactic for 70% of the wine lends lush creaminess. Perfect with panfried John Dory or roast chicken.
