When ex-RAF pilot Bob Lindo and his wife Annie planted their first eight thousand vines in 1989, they never dreamed of the phenomenal success Camel Valley would become. Now overseen by their son, Sam, this Cornish gem of a winery consistently win medals at both national and international level. The quality of the wines here simply can’t be overstated. (They’ve even won a Trophy for 'Best International Traditional Method Sparkling Wine' ahead of Bollinger and Roederer.) It’s no wonder then that their 2018 Bacchus is such a success, proudly boasting 95 Points and two Gold medals. Beautifully ripe and from a brilliant English vintage, it offers mouthfuls of lime, peach and elderflower. Divine with shellfish or a joy to sip on its own.
