1x Domaine Montirius Le Village Vacqueyras 2014
Domaine Montirius has been our favourite estate in the Southern Rhône cru of Vacqueyras for many years and those of you who buy Rhône en primeur will know they feature in our offer year in, year out.
This is the last of our stock from the 2014 vintage which was bought en primeur and has been aged perfectly in the company cellars. As is typical of Christine and Eric Saurel’s wines, it is tremendously elegant with a stream of wonderful pure, fresh fruits.
1x Domaine de Mourchon Tradition Seguret Côtes du Rhône Villages 2014
“One of the reference point estates in the southern Côtes du Rhône…These splendid cuvées are all worth buying by the caseload.” www.robertparker.com. Tradition was Domaine de Mourchon’s very first wine, a classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan from 40
year old vines. Velvety and rich with concentrated fruit and a silky texture, it’s no wonder it came in at number 52 on Wine Spectator's 2017 Top 100 list,
an annual roundup of the year’s most exciting wines.
1x Domaine Martin Rasteau Vieilles Vignes 2015
Domaine Martin is run by brothers David and Eric Martin, who made some seriously impressive wines in 2015. This one knocked us for six when we tasted it shortly after the vintage alongside some much more expensive crus including Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It’s an old vine cuvée from vineyards just north of Gigondas with incredible richness and superb focus. A beautiful combination of dense, ripe fruit and a lean, sleek structure make it a Southern Rhône red of standout quality.
