From a cellar that made the list of the world’s top 50 wineries nine years on the trot (Wine Spectator), this beautifully mellow Gran Reserva was matured for over two years in oak barrels. Silky smooth with intense red fruit and long oaky complexity.

Familia Martínez Bujanda is one of the finest bodegas in all Rioja, and this mellow, complex Gran Reserva is one of their top reds. In 1984 they completed a state of the art winery, a century after the estate was founded, and since then the family have been winning worldwide acclaim for their wines. We were one of their first customers too. Alongside a high tech vinification cellar, the winery includes two barrel halls that hold 11,000 casks, which are both temperature and humidity controlled so the wine matures in optimum conditions. This fine red is mostly cherry scented Tempranillo, with a splash of Mazuelo giving the wine the structure to age, all grown on the estate’s vineyards. Enjoy with game or roast lamb to show it off at its best.
