This wine may have humble 'Vin de France' on the label, but it's from one of the top names in the northern Rhône. Michel Chapoutier is renowned worldwide for his organic and biodynamic wines, as well as being the first to do braile labels. In 1998, he started working with Domaine Ferraton, itself a highly reputed family estate of 70 years standing. With Chapoutier input, quality has stepped up even higher, plus oenologist Damien Brisset has also joined the team. The result is delicious, impressive wines and, in the case of the La Tournée range, excellent value. Using classic Rhône grapes Syrah and Grenache, the wine is all fruit, no oak, smooth and supple. Delicious on its own, but even better at a bbq or with vegetable lasagne or chicken.
