Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a well regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board the quality has risen even higher. The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it as an independent concern, with the family still very much at the helm. Oenologist Damien Brisset is also part of the domaine’s ‘super team’. 2018 wasn't as straightforward as some vintages, but Michel Chapoutier called it "a terrific year". Add in grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous Syrah brilliance you can look forward to in this fine Saint Joseph. Fleshy and ripe, yet elegant. A great match with lamb.
