Ferraton Père et Fils is based in Tain Hermitage, and in 1998 Samuel Ferraton the 4th generation of the family formed a partnership with Michel Chapoutier. This new synergy brought new knowledge and know-how, including biodynamic vine-growing practices to the estate.
The estate remains independently run but the winemaking is overseen by Chapoutier and this shows in the glass
The Syrah for this ripe red comes from granite and alluvial soils on the right bank of the Rhone in the foothills of the Massif central, harvested at optimal ripeness
Partly aged in barrels for six months, there’s a delicate hint of spice alongside the ripe berry fruits
Tasting note: Classic red berry fruit and freshly crushed black pepper aromas emerge in the glass with a well rounded and powerful palate. Rich and velvety with a soft, spicy finish.
