Ferraton Père et Fils Hermitage Blanc Les Miaux 2020

Hermitage AOC

Superb 95-point white Hermitage from 2020, where wines "shine for purity, freshness, and elegance” (JD). The estate was adopted by the Rhône's renowned Michel Chapoutier in 2004 and has resulted in a glorious pure Marsanne – exotic, luscious, long.

Founded in 1946, Domaine Ferraton has always been a highly regarded estate. Yet since the Chapoutiers have come on board quality has rocketed and their wines "represent screaming values” (Jeb Dunnock). The Ferraton family started working with Michel Chapoutier in 1998, the latter buying the estate outright in 2004, but running it very much as an independent concern, with the family still at the helm. Add in the 5-Star quality of 2020, which JancisRobinson.com described as "a very good vintage" and Decanter as having "excellent white wines", plus grapes produced to the highest biodynamic standards, and you’ll understand the sumptuous brilliance of this wine. Pure Marsanne from Les Dionnières vineyard, this is superb now, but will age too.

"Beautifully perfumed, so pure, with a floating floral aroma. Apricot and pear, this has power" Matt Walls
