Folklore Organic Tinto Peninsular 2019

Vino Tinto

You might know of Javier and Julián Murúa, makers of our top-selling Rioja Barón de Barbón. They're also rather good at crafting juicy, top value reds like this new release. It's bursting with juicy red fruits with a classic Spanish twist.

When our Buyer for Spain, Beth, came up with the idea of a wine that truly spoke of the nation, she turned straight to the Murúa family. Not only do they make great Rioja, but they also have access to some of the best, organically grown grapes across Spain. Silky, berryish Tempranillo from sun-baked La Mancha forms the backbone of this wine. Then Beth was shown some brambly Cabernet and spicy Syrah (aka Shiraz) that the family were holding in their cellar – and they decided to blend them with the Tempranillo. Common practice in Beth's home nation of Australia. The result is deliciously tasty. A juicy, bold fruit red which is unmistakably Spanish, that fans of fruit-rich Aussie wines will love too. Best enjoyed with a helping of paella.

"If you like big, bold reds that offer loads of flavour and top value, this is for you" Beth Willard
