More information
Branch out to discover one of Italy’s little known white grapes and the new flavours it brings to a wine. Falanghina is one of the country's oldest varieties, planted here in Roman times. It excels in Campania, in the south, a subregion of which is Benevento. Riccardo Cotarella is a top winemaking consultant, teaming up with cellars throughout Italy to make wines that show off each grape variety and region at its best. Here he works with La Guardianse, awarded top marks in wine bible Gambero Rosso many times. Their vineyards lie in the foothills of the Pyrenees, 250 to 300 metres high, so grapes ripen slowly, retaining aroma and freshness. Expertly crafted, this fresh white scored 91-Points and is ideal with seafood or light pasta dishes.
