The Grand Vin from the highly acclaimed Daumas Gassac estate costs around £30 but, thanks to our long partnership, Samuel Guibert has created for us a Grande Réserve edition. All the pedigree of the top wine, but at a much more affordable price.

A unique red combining southern French richness with the class of a Cru Classé claret. It is from one of the star estates of the Languedoc, Daumas Gassac, which was founded by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, former glovemakers to royalty and friends of Bordeaux geography professor Henri Enjalbert. Visiting the property, Henri was bowled over by the quality of the terroir – formed over thousands of years by slowly shifting glaciers and so began the Guibert adventure with wine. The soil is so well drained that the vine roots must grow deep down to find nourishment and moisture, promoting unique aromas and flavours in the grapes. A great alternative to their pricy Grand Vin, this rich, ripe red is superb with garlicky lamb or hearty casseroles.

"Great and delicious example of a southern France wine. Even better when left to breathe a few hours" Online Review
