Welcome to Maison Hennessy, one of the world’s most famous Cognac houses. Richard Hennessy, an Irish officer serving in the army of Louis XV, founded the firm in 1765. Since then, the Hennessy name has become a byword for luxury, thanks to the dedication to quality that’s continued through the generations. Only ever crafted with Ugni Blanc sourced from the region’s four great crus, the eaux de vie are distilled and aged separately, waiting to become a Hennessy Cognac. Over the years, many of the firm’s innovations have become industry standards, including the adoption of the XO – or extra old – classification. This states the youngest part of the blend must be at least 10 years old, helping the Cognac develop a robust, persistent character.
