Thirty years ago Marlborough was known only for barley and sheep. The success story of this wine region is one of the most remarkable in modern times, and one in which Hunter's Estate has played a major part. But, as well as establishing the benchmark for classic NZ Sauvignon, Hunter’s was also the region’s second winery ever to produce fizz made by the traditional technique used in Champagne. It's a method that results in a greater density of bubbles and much more complex, yeasty flavours than most sparkling wines. It's little wonder that it's been awarded so many top scores. Fine, creamy and seriously delicious, this is a luxurious rival to Brut Champagne that's guaranteed to impress. Drink as an aperitif, with smoked salmon canapés.
