The Sartirano cellar was founded in 1871 and 150 years later is in the hands of the fourth generation, Paolo. He works closely with all his growers to gain exceedingly high quality grapes. One of those growers is Señor Seghesia, who loves to describe Tuscan life and experience in poetry. (And whose passion inspired the name of this wine.) Paolo is a very particular and dedicated winemaker, searching out terrific fruit. His Il Poeta Barbaresco, particularly the fruit filled 2017 vintage, is a poetical expression of the finest Nebbiolo. It's an intense and poised Barbaresco, full of dark cherry and mocha flavours, with balsamic notes and freshness. Complex and unmistakably elegant.
