Every year, this magnificent Tuscan Sangiovese is awarded very high scores, and 2018 is one of the best - "a beautiful expression of this versatile and deeply expressive grape" (Wine Advocate). The estate was established in the 1950s when adjoining properties ‘Isole’ and ‘Olena’ were purchased by Piedmont's de Marchi family. For 30 years now it has been in the capable hands of Paolo de Marchi – a pioneer in the region for being the first to grow Syrah and in his search for the finest Sangiovese clone. Paolo's great attention to detail has resulted in the worldwide reputation of this great estate. Aged mainly in French oak, this wine is beautifully rich and supple. Decant early for drinking now or tuck away in the cellar a few years.
