Menetou Salon is a Loire appellation all Sauvignon lovers should know! It makes pure, fresh Sauvignon Blanc, with the class of Sancerre, but often with a touch more fruit. And the great thing, is that they don't cost the earth! Les Thureaux is from the Mellot family, whose winemaking began there in 1531. Catherine Corbeau Mellot, wife of the late Alexandre Mellot, is currently at the helm, while her two sons, Adrien and Armand, will soon continue the family tradition. All Sauvignon Blanc, grown on classic limestone over kimmeridgian clay, the wine is very pure and fresh, with ripe mango and orchard fruits, and a tight seam of grassy minerality. A fine match with white fish dishes, carpaccio or goat’s cheese and pear salad.
