Roussanne is a prized Rhône grape, featuring in the rare whites of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This is a fabulous parcel, however, from a top grower in the Languedoc. Meticulous winemaking and lees ageing adds creamy weight to the ripe stone fruit.

La Révélation really is just that – it shows that you don't have to splash out on the pricey wines of the northern Rhône or Châteauneuf to get supreme quality. Our winemaker in the Languedoc has a terrific network of growers, who love their vineyards and really know how to get the most from them. Every year, they deliver grapes of supreme quality at harvest time and from these, Mark is able to make high-quality wines that taste much more expensive than they actually are. La Revelation uses grapes from Joseph Bousquet's family domaine in the high slopes of Limoux, now in the last year of organic conversion. Aged in large oak foudres for six months, this lees-aged white is ripe, yet with excellent freshness. Great with chicken or seafood.

"Roussanne is a grape with so much character, especially from the vineyards of Joseph Bousquet" Mark Hoddy
