Superb 92-94pt Grand Cru Chablis from a fine, third-generation estate, "making some very stylish Chablis" (Tim Atkin MW). 2019 was a very fine vintage, which makes this white even more appealing. Spicy breadth shot through by lime intensity.
Tasting notes
Citrus zipped, tight-bound, with broader spice notes and length
Aroma
Bready spice, lime, minerality, dusty stone, light peach
Allergy information

David and Arnaud Lavantureux took over from their parents Roland and Brigitte in 2010, becoming the third generation of winemakers at this Chablis estate. David is the winemaker, Arnaud in charge of the vines. Their philosophy is one of expressing the differences between individual terroirs and vintages, while making intense Chablis with richness and complexity. Their Bougros Grand Cru comes from super-sunny, south and south-east-facing slopes on the right bank of the Serein. Quality was superb in 2019 - "they unexpectedly offer freshness and richness", as critic Neal Martin wrote, "you can have your cake and eat it"! 80% aged in oak, with 20% of that new, there is spiciness, as well lime-zipped, citrus intensity. Decant early or cellar.
