Les Voleurs d’Or NV

Beaujolais is all Gamay and soft juicy reds, right? Well, no. Surprisingly, there are just a few tiny vineyards of Viognier too. From the award winning team at Les Vignerons des Pierres Dorées, this is a delightful, aromatic, fresh peach white.

Hear Beaujolais and you'll be forgiven for thinking immediately of the joyful, juicy fruit of Gamay. That's in 99% of its vineyards. But there's also a white grape of Beaujolais. Just as joyful, bright and juicy as its red cousin. Viognier. At Les Vignerons des Pierres Dorées (literally "golden stones" - with just a touch of sunlight, the special stones in the vineyards take on a golden glow), there are three growers with less than two hectares between them, passionate about growing Viognier. And it is certainly delicious. Thanks to the skill of winemaker Michael Lachaud, the wine bursts with ripe stone fruit and freshness. Chill your bottle down – it's a top choice with creamy sauced white meats, salmon or a Japanese noodle dish.
